Safety Precautions
Installation, wiring, testing, and servicing must be performed in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
DANGER
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace electrical safety regulations. Refer to NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, or local standards.
- Installation and maintenance of this equipment must be performed only by qualified personnel.
- Disconnect all power circuits from the device and the equipment in which it is installed before performing any service on the equipment.
- Always use a properly calibrated voltage detector to verify that power is isolated.
- Communications and I/O wiring are assumed to be hazardous live parts unless otherwise specified.
- Before performing visual inspections, tests, or maintenance on the equipment, disconnect all power sources. Assume all circuits are live until they are fully disconnected, tested, and tagged. Pay special attention to the design of the power system. Consider all electrical sources, especially the risk of backfeed.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated value of this device.
- Replace all devices, doors, and covers before powering on the equipment.
- Do not short-circuit the secondary of a voltage transformer (VT).
- Do not open the circuit of a current transformer (CT).
- Always use external grounded CTs for current inputs.
- Do not use water or other liquids to clean the product. Use a cleaning cloth to remove dirt. If dirt cannot be removed, contact your local technical support representative.
